Description

A career defining opportunity to transform health and care for half a million people

Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Accountable Officer (AO) and STP/Shadow Integrated Care System (ICS) Executive Lead is a new and career-defining role providing critical leadership in developing and supporting a collaborative health and care system.   Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin is a beautiful place to live and work, but there is more that we can do to improve people’s lives, tackle inequalities and address the cause of loneliness, poverty and obesity.  As a system we are committed to working ‘together as one’ to seek opportunities to work differently to join services up, maximise the opportunities of innovation and digital technology and ensure our environments are fit for our staff to deliver world class modern day health and care services.  We are working in partnership across statutory and non-statutory health and care providers, through open and compassionate relationships; organising teams as locally as possible, and working with our communities, volunteers and staff, to enable our populations to live healthier lives.

The AO/Shadow ICS lead is a newly formed role which is jointly accountable to the CCG Governing Body and the Shadow ICS Independent Chair and NHS England for the commissioning, development and performance of the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin system.  As the AO of the CCG you will have responsibility for leading the organisation in meeting its statutory duties and creating the vision and form to develop as a high functioning strategic commissioner, enabling partnership plans and system priorities.  As system leader, working with the Independent Chair, you will develop the Shadow ICS with accountability for system wide strategic planning, performance, oversight, resilience and improvement; providing assurance to regulators in respect of the system’s strategic transformation and leading a culture of compassion.

We are seeking an exceptional, inspirational, and strategic board level leader with proven experience of delivering complex change across organisational boundaries.  Bringing an inclusive and engaging style, you will have a natural ability to communicate with patients, communities, clinicians, and wider staff groups whilst engaging diverse stakeholders and navigating complex political environments.  Energised by delivering lasting improvements in population health, this is an exceptional opportunity for you to create a single commissioning voice within the Shadow ICS; tackle health inequalities and deliver best value for money.  Creating a compelling vision for the future strategy of the system; you will be aligned with the values and aspirations of our partner organisations and our population needs.  This role presents both a significant challenge and a hugely exciting opportunity for you to bring our system together as one to impact on the future health and wellbeing of our populations.
